Through nurturing cohesive cooperation among stakeholders and leveraging diverse initiatives, the OGSE sector continuously develops a skilled and semi-skilled workforce, reinforcing its position as an engine of Malaysia’s continued socioeconomic prosperity.

Talent Development Initiatives

These talent initiatives are designed to cultivate a future-ready workforce, made up of competent local OGSE talent equipped to support the industry especially during volatile times. By 2030, this collaborative effort between industry, academia and government is set to empower 60,000 high-skilled and semi-skilled talents through a pipeline of progressive initiatives.

Skilled Worker Retention Programme
An initiative that supports OGSE industry players to effectively retain highly skilled talent during volatile times, and aims to alleviate the impact of permanent talent loss and subsequent expertise loss to other industries.

OGSE Career Promotion
Assist the OGSE sector to retain valuable talent by promoting the oil & gas industry’s career prospects and skill-set choices, while also facilitating training and development of the existing OGSE workforce through continuous learning and learning materials.

Expansion of Engineering Courses
Develop more diverse, comprehensive and up-to-date learning modules and materials, to equip and attract future talent for the rapidly expanding energy industry.
